GDPR Compliance Guide

Last updated: August 2026 · How Fast Mail Tracker supports your obligations under the GDPR.

If you send email to people in the European Union, the GDPR applies to you as the data controller. Fast Mail Tracker acts as a data processor for the tracking data you generate, and we're built to help you meet your obligations.

Lawful basis

You're responsible for having a lawful basis to email your recipients and to record engagement, typically legitimate interest or consent, depending on your relationship with them. Track people you have a genuine reason to contact.

Data subject rights

  • Access and portability: export the tracking data tied to your account at any time.
  • Erasure: delete tracking history from your account, or ask us to remove it.
  • Objection: turn tracking off per message whenever you'd rather not record engagement.

How we help

We store tracking data securely, keep it tied to your account rather than sold or shared, and separate automated scanner opens from human engagement so the data you hold is accurate. A data processing agreement is available on request.

Good practice

  • Be transparent in your own privacy notice about tracking email engagement.
  • Only track what you need, and don't keep it longer than you have a reason to.
  • Honour opt-outs promptly and keep your lists clean.
